Custom production is available in any weight and colour, starting from 1.6 grams. Kozo is the living element of washi; the entire production process depends on how well the kozo is processed, and different kozo varieties are used to meet each customer's specific requirements.

Kozo is the living element of washi. The entire washi-making process depends on how well the kozo is produced. Each kozo variety has its own distinct characteristics, and different varieties are used to meet each customer's specific requirements.

The age of the kozo tree, the season in which it is processed, the chemicals used during boiling, the processing time and the uniformity of the raw material are all factors that make a difference in the final product. Boiling removes the pectin and lignin that bind the plant's fibres together, bringing the papermaking material close to being just the fibres themselves. From this point on, processing methods vary according to the customer's requirements.
